How does Channelmanager work?




Channelmanager is not just a Site Updater, is a full front office system; it offers far more than a site updater; increases business, saves wages and provides many reports. It also makes the hotel/motel run smoother and lets you go on far more
last minute sites.

Previously you could only be on a few sites as they took too much time to update and it was easy to get over booked as you had to constantly go in and out of the last minute sites, when at any moment it was possible for multiple bookings to come through . Channelmanager automatically updates all the last minute sites within 3 to 5 minutes of getting a booking.

When a phone or walk-in booking is made, the receptionist puts that booking into Channelmanager and the system automatically goes out and updates all the sites straight away. Channelmanager has a Day Book which keeps track of all your bookings. For the office manager the bookings just appear on the day book as they are made by the last minute sites, a guests invoice is created automatically with name, booking number, length of stay, cost, guest’s contact number etc. Gone are the days of the rubber and pencil trying to juggle room allocations for guests.

From the day book you can make bookings, set rooms as managers rooms, which blocks out rooms from the last minute sites, and still lets the hotel manager book the rooms when it suits him, You can change inclusions in the last minute sites with just one entry, You can create a guest booking slip for phone or walk-in bookings,It lets the hotel manager put in the number of guests, arrival date, departure date, number of rooms required, first name, surname, address, post code, email address, number of adults, no of children, cots, car registration and comments. It allows the hotel manager to enter in mode of payment: cash or credit card, In addition the charges can be put into a debtors file and can be sent at the end of the month.

You can select the source of business that the booking came from, which lets the manager know where all his/her business is coming from. There is a set of tables for the guests charges. These tables can easily be changed to suite each different type of hotel/motel etc.

Every day Channelmanager produces a daily guests list which shows the guests who have to check in, guests who have checked out for that day, lists the guests that are arriving on that day.
